Sunset of 128kbps and 320kbps

The main stream used by listeners is the 256kbps so we've discontinued the other two streams. We live in a world now where streaming 256kbps on a mobile device is no different to 128kbps.

We've moved from ShoutCast to IceCast today and now have a new stream URL. We'll be keeping both running for a while as it will take some time for the changes to be done in Radio Browser and MyTuner etc.

Audio Processing Changes

We've made some changes to our audio processor today which should mean a slight improvement in audio quality and clarity. However, it will be a little more towards a radio sound so maybe not for everyone.

We've reenabled the clipper (rather than just a strict limiter) which allows for a slightly fuller sound.
We've significantly increased the amount of compute assigned to the processor which makes it do the best maths it can to get everything right.

Website Stream now 320kbps

We've updated our website stream to 320kbps now which connects to the Shoutcast v2 servers. This is still MP3 so there are better codecs these days but this is solid and plays on everything.

At the moment, it's clean, simple and built on modern browser tech. We're still working on the site but hopefully most of it is working.
